Robert Bateman is a national treasure. The only living artist who has a museum dedicated just for his works in Victoria, British Columbia; several schools named after him in Abbotsford, British Columbia and in Ottawa, Ontario.
A beautiful 18 km urban nature trail in Toronto, Ontario has also been named after him, the Robert Bateman Urban Nature Trail.
Robert Bateman is the most decorated artist in his own lifetime with 14 honorary doctorates, several lifetime achievement awards, honoured by Amnesty International, World Wildlife Fund and acclaimed by the Audubon Society as one of the 20th century heroes of conservation.
He has been awarded the honour of the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia. His success and fame as an artist have been phenomenal. His generosity and dedication for environmental and conservation causes have also been impressive.
With over 60 years of painting experience, Robert Bateman has become the most internationally successful living Canadian artist.
